My journey as a clinician is rooted in my former background as a special education teacher for the NYC Department of Education. While working with children and adolescents, I quickly became aware of how positive socio-emotional development was just as important and necessary as academics. Although I was their teacher, my students taught me the significance of having a strong, interpersonal relationship and how it can support an individual through various facets of life. Thus, I made a shift in my career and became a therapist to continue providing this support for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. By establishing a strong rapport and a safe space for my clients, I provide the tools necessary to guide them in their unique journeys of self-improvement. I typically utilize a strengths-based approach with my clients to highlight their resilience in overcoming the hardships and challenges that life may have thrown at them. I also tailor my sessions to have them more person-centered, by facilitating a therapeutic environment where my clients become aware of their own capabilities of growth and help them achieve self-actualization.
My education and experience have provided me with the knowledge necessary to foster a safe and supportive therapeutic space. I attained my bachelor’s degree in psychology from CUNY Baruch College. Shortly after, I completed my first master’s degree in special education at the Relay Graduate School of Education, followed by my second master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at CUNY Hunter College.
Outside of work, I ensure to maintain an appropriate work-life balance by spending time with close family and friends, as well as working on my own physical and emotional development. Some of my passions and interests include running, traveling and exploring new places, and trying out different cuisines throughout the city.
I ensure to always promote the values that I practice actively in my sessions, including genuineness, compassion, and empathy. I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you in your own unique journey of self-growth and self-development.
